PLASTICS
Diamond (D)
The Diamond blend is made from a high-grade TPU. These blends create the best durability and grip on the surface of any disc on the market. Runs are clear, translucent, or opaque. These discs are typically more stable than Platinum but less stable than Hyper DIAMOND and Nylon.
Hyper Diamond
Hyper Diamond includes fibreglass to reduce shrink and provide extra toughness. This creates discs that are flat, which are great for side-arm shots and lower trajectory drives.
Diamond Glow
The Diamond blend is made from a high-grade TPU combined with strontium which produces the longest lasting brightest glow on the market. These blends create the best durability and grip on the surface of any disc on the market and we use a heavy loading of the glow to assure our discs glow the best. Runs are clear/translucent making the glow even more intense.
Platinum and Cobalt
Platinum and Cobalt blends produce discs with slightly more dome than Diamond and excellent grip. The dome provides more lift which greatly increases glide. Cobalt blends are firmer and have a bit more dome than Platinum.
Pure White (PW)
The Pure White blends are created by using a talc filled popypropelene which reduces shrinkage to produce a flatter, lower profile driving putter. They are firm on the rim, grippy on the surface, flatter and slightly more stable than most blends.
Firm (F)
The firm putt & approach discs have a firm rim with a slight flex in the flight plate. These discs flex in half at 19-24 lbs of pressure and are typically used for a driving and lay up putter. More firm discs like this are preferred by players who use a pendulum style or a push putt and low spin putting style. They also hold up really well when throwing shots on wooded holes and do not get too flexible when playing in warmer temperatures.
Lunar
Lunar discs are very flexible with a great grip for putting, especially in cool or rainy weather.
Super Soft (SS)
The 2S putt & approach discs are slightly stiff in the rim and pliable in the flight plate. These discs flex in half at 14-18 lbs of pressure and cover a wide range of putting styles and are still firm enough to be used for driving and lay up shots.
Super Stupid Soft (SSS)
The 3S putt & approach discs are flexible in both the rim and flight plate. Flexing in half at 9-13 lbs of pressure. This flex is perfect for flick putters and chest putting where thumb pressure is applied to the flight plate and the discs are sprung out of the hand upon release.
Super Stupid Silly Soft (SSSS)
4S putters are just about as flexible as a disc can be made and still hold its shape. These discs flex in half under 5 lbs of pressure and are very popular among newer players who need the extra grip in the chains on slightly off center hits.
Superglow (GLO)
The Superglow blends are made using the element strontium which produces the longest lasting brightest glow on the market. We use a heavy loading of the glow to assure our discs glow the best. Most runs of Superglow putters over the years fall between F and SS. More flexible runs are now being marked with accurate flex.
SureGrip
ThSure Grip does exactly what you would think. It is a baseline plastic with superior grip making it a great choice for all conditions out on the course. Personally, this is one of my favorite baseline plastics in the gateway lineup. It has a similar grip to XT plastic from Innova but has a stiffer feel in the hand. It is a great choice for players who like the have confidence in their grip but some people might find it to have too much grip for their liking.
Organic (OG)
Organic runs are made using a combination of recycled rubber and a renewable resource (corn based bio-polymer) making an eco-friendly product. Most organic discs produce a very chalky surface and fall in between S and 2S. Some older runs that are more flexible may or may not be marked. Plans to accurately mark all future runs with the appropriate flex.
Eraser (ER)
The Eraser blend is a special mix of polymers that creates an “Eraser-like” grip on the surface of the disc.
Hemp
Hemp blends come in SureGrip and DIAMOND. Diamond Hemp discs are slightly firmer in the rim but the flight plate remains pliable. Hemp increases structural stability and produces a grittier surface that feels great especially in wet conditions.
Money ($)
The money blend of putt and approach discs are marked with a $ and can range from 2S to 4S. This blend is quite different from our regular suregrip blends as we use a very flexible elastomer which causes the discs to look shiny on the surface and become very gummy with use. The $ blend is great for wet conditions.
Nylon
Nylon blends are super tough for long-lasting dependable performance. The stability is in between DIAMOND and Hyper DIAMOND.
Special Blend (SB)
We often sample materials that are sent to us by suppliers that are either entirely new components or additives to our existing blends. We started labeling special blends after several years of running them with the first being SB-6 and are now up to SB-30. These prototype batches range in quantities from 60 to 300 discs. Unfortunately it’s not always possible to recreate the runs due to their experimental nature. The current blend of SB-30 is something we can recreate and could end up becoming the final Special Blend.
